It’s not long now: ticket sales for two main winter sport events 2018 in Sweden – the FIS World Cup Stockholm City Event at Hammarbybacken and the Audi FIS Ski World Cup Finals 2018 in Åre – will launch on 27 October.

The first two editions of the Audi FIS Ski World Cup Stockholm City Event in 2016 and 2017 sold out quickly. The interest for the 2018 event is already peaking since questions about the timing of ticket release are flowing in. Last year, close to 9000 fans experienced the race live from a sold-out grandstand. On January 30, 2018, it is again time for this modern game of gladiators to return to Hammarbybacken. The good news is that if you are interested in attending, the wait will be over on Friday, 27 October 2017!

Ticket sales for the winter highlight downtown Stockholm will open on the Friday (27 October), just before the World Cup Opening on the Rettenbach glacier in Sölden, Austria (28-29 October). What’s more is that this year the Hammarbybacken ticket sales will launch simultaneously with the Åre FIS World Cup Finals tickets.

The season finals on 14-18 March 2018 will be the dress rehearsal for the Åre 2019 FIS Alpine World Ski Championships. In many ways, the Finals will be a ”condensed version” of the World Championships. The arena will be in championship mode for a full week yet the race schedule is compressed into five days, containing downhill, super-G, giant slalom, and slalom for both ladies and men as well as the Alpine Team Event. Both of the downhills will be run on completely revamped courses (read here for more). The 2018 Finals will be the culmination of the 2018 Olympic season so there are several reasons to secure your tickets early. Most importantly, however, by being part of both the Hammarbybacken parallel slalom in January and the FIS World Cup Finals in March you will get a first glimpse into the epic excitement that awaits us in Åre in February 2019!
