The preparations and venue construction for the World Cup Stockholm race arena at Hammarbybacken have been completed successfully. It is the third time that the FIS Ski World Cup visits Stockholm.

The weather forecast for the next 24h is looking great with clear and sunny skies with below freezing temperatures following light snowfall during the night, which bodes well for the slope.

– It is snowing at the moment and we will be working all through the night to keep the hill in good shape. The conditions are great and we want to make sure this stays so. Only the competitors and limited service staff will be allowed on course to ensure excellent competitions, said Hans Olsson, Chief of Competition at the Audi FIS Ski World Cup City Event Stockholm

All the 32 athletes, including four Swedes, have arrived in Stockholm and will have time to inspect the course and test the start gates in the afternoon before the official athlete presentation begins at 17:15 CET. The Audi FIS Ski World Cup City Event will commence at 17:45CET.

– We are hoping for the same amazing experience this year that we enjoyed the last two years, with a thrilling atmosphere and great crowd engagement, stated Kaj Linde, event director Audi FIS Ski World Cup City Event Stockholm.
